Patience the Peahen
Patience the Peahen is a picture book by Samantha Harrell with illustrations by Layne Condra. Patience is a plain-colored peahen who is troubled by her lack of luminous plumage that is reserved only for peacocks. She plans to flee the park that she resides in for a lonelier, peacock-free existence, only to be reminded that she has peachick eggs in the park to protect. Will she stay put long enough to incubate her peachick eggs until they hatch?
"'Patience the Peahen' is a delightful read! The clever alliteration used by the author draws both reader and listener in to see what predicament Patience will find herself in next. As the thoughtful theme unfolds, the beauty of protecting innocent lives and learning not to base our worth on appearance is clear. Motherhood is the star ⭐️ in this story as sacrificing personal feelings and plans of escape for the protection of her chicks becomes paramount. Parents of all ages should pick up a copy and share with their children. I believe it will quickly become a family favorite!"

Readers journey with Patience as she learns that true beauty is found not in dazzling displays, but in the depths of our roles and relationships."
